Coi Started Helping Me at 3

It is indeed hard to raise a child as you need to invest on a lot of things. From milk formula, disposable diapers, vitamins and other primary necessities of a young individual.

Lately Macoi just turned three and I am so glad that he already stopped taking formula through feeding bottles thus reducing his consumption, he has also stopped wearing diapers even at night. Imagine how big help he has done for me as I need not include that in our budget.

Thank you baby. Keep on eating a lot. I love You.

Coi and His Wounded Lips

Night time of April 4, Monday upon reaching home; Coi immediately get to the door to open it up for me. He was articulating something I did not understand in an instant until I saw his lips and nose swollen with bruises.

He said "momi, tugat tayaw tugtog hulog paspispos". He is actually telling me that he got his wound when he danced on the music and fell as he was watching basketball. He fell from a bench in a basketball court where he was dancing as my aunt told me.

Now his wounds are almost healed and I guess things like that are part of growing up.

Basketball Ring for Kids

I've been seeing Coi becoming more active everyday. He is now fond of doing some outdoor activities, mostly ball games. One of those is playing basketball. My aunt is asking me to get him a basketball ring for him to do the shooting just outside the house or even inside, something portable and can be reassembled from here and there.

I have seen something almost similar to this one in a supermarket which costs around P1,500 ($36). Now I am thinking if I should get this or the bike he has also been asking from me lately. =(

Macoi’s Prayer -Angel of God

I am glad how my Coi-coi has learned to pray. We now do it every night. I know he had memorized it though he cannot fully utter the words yet.

It is but important to teach a child at a very young age to get closer to God. We have to instill them that to our Lord only we should depend.

Perhaps it is a bit harder introducing Jesus in His deepest sense. Maybe we could start letting them know that there are Angels guiding little children like them. Just like the most popular prayer imparts to us.

Angel of God,

My guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
ever this day(night),
be at my side
to light and love,
to rule and guide.
Amen.

I have researched a Latin translation of this prayer, which I would just like to share as well. Here it goes:

Ángele Dei,

qui custos es mei,
me, tibi commissum pietáte supérna,
hodie illúmina, custódi,
rege et gubérna.
Amen.

A Pinch on My Nose

Before I leave the house for work, Coi and I have these usual goodbye routine activities. A kiss on the lips, a love represented by power hug and bless for respect and those phrases of "I love you, ingat" thing.
Just recently, he learned something from a friend which he has adapted and tried on me since yesterday. That was the pinch on my nose. After he blesses, he would reach out for my nose and will try to squeeze it in as much as he can. For me, that is something sweet enough to make my day. I love Coi so much.

New Bike for Coi?

That one ridden by Teddy is Coi's old and current bike, the one he tore down just recently. A repair was done on it but Coi does not want to use it anymore; maybe because it was not as comfortable as before.
Yesterday morning he asked me to buy him a new one and I am planning to get something bigger for him. I still want the Disney inspired cars design. I am thinking if I need to acquire one this soon or should I wait for his third birthday instead.
I don't want him chasing for his playmates' toys but I also don't want him to feel like he's a total spoiled brat.  What should I do? =(

Coi and His New Hair Cut

If I am not mistaken it is Coi's fifth hair cut since he was born. It started when he reached a year old because that is according to the old saying that a baby should only have his or her hair cut on the first birthday.
Coi's usual hair style is usually that of extra short type. He also had experience that of the Mohawk kind. Lately he had some sort of tail at the back. While yesterday the barber got him back to the usual.
Last night, when I reached home he was so excited to show me his head with almost no hair at all.

My Macoi, My Cupid

I consider my son as my life's greatest gift. Now that he is almost three years old, I hope he already understands what Valentine's Day mean to a lot of people.
I regard Coi-coi to be my Cupid that whosoever he had chosen to be stricken with his powerful bow and arrow shall become my man and his second father.
He whom has decided to love me shall love my son as well and treat Coi as his own. That is a must. A package deal he must avail. Either he takes it or leaves it. A choice he has to make, something for him to decide on.♥

Saturday Bonding with Friends and Kiddos

Last Saturday, Macoi and I were able to spend bonding time together with my college friends and their kiddos. This is becoming a once in a blue moon happening as we can no longer expect our group to come complete as before. Coi's Ninang Kat is now in Canada with her hubby so she is just assumed to be our photographer for as long as she cannot attend our gatherings.
We were extraordinarily happy during that day.
I thought I couldn't take care of Macoi the way it should be but at least the pocket full of patience I have taken was just enough to save the day.
I just love to be with friends and even more with our little ones.

Time Flies

How time really flies, as one my friend's dad said. I feel like I was just few days absent from blogging but when I get back to my last post, I found out that it was almost half a year that passed. Back then Coi was only 2 year-old and 3 mos now he is at his second year and seventh month already.

There are a lot of things he can do now as compared before. He already has this talkative tongue and is starting to ask questions. He even knows hot to demand for a thing he wants.

Obviously, my baby is really growing as time passes by. Who knows? Tomorrow he might be attending children preparatory classes already.

Mild Diarrhea: Macoi on Poop

Loose, frequent runny or watery bowel movements are some of the common terms synonymously used for diarrhea. But there is such thing as mild diarrhea. And I guess this is what Macoi has experienced this last few days.

Mild as he did not come to a point of dehydration so nothing's really serious about it. However, I still acted as a worried mom. I bought bottles of pedialyte so we can avoid getting him in a grave condition. I even let him took some vials of his previous medicine for diarrhea as prescribed by his pediatrician.

What he has experienced is something just like normal. You can never see in him afflicted by something. He is still the usual jolly and active baby coi. He vomitted once but that's when I forced him to eat dinner as he has restrained himself from eating solid foods for about a day or two. I guess of lesser medications, he has recovered himself from it.

So to all the moms out there, if you happen to encounter similar scenario; just make sure to consistently observe your child. See to it that he/she is in regular intake of food and  fluids as frequent as possible to avoid dehydration.

And since one of the causes of diarrhea are those bad bacteria, let us teach our children to observe cleanliness not just of their body but of the surroundings as well.

Macoi's Second Home

Macoi seemed to have missed his second home that much after two (2) months of us not being able to visit them. Nothing did really change. I guess Coi has really learned and accepted the fact of being part of his lolo dado's family.

He loves his lolo that much as I see it. Though his Lola is becoming too persistent at times, he has been used to calling her with sweetness in his voice. His aunts and uncles as well as his two girl cousins have shown enough of care which he dearly acknowledges though he cannot say it yet.

Thanks to Dadi Onie, for taking Macoi to this second home full of love. One thing is for sure, Macoi will always remember everything you have given him. I thank you even more for all the things you've done for both of us. No one else can do the same thing as you do.

What if???

Macoi's fun-pic wearing Minnie Mouse headband
What if Macoi become one of the homosexuals? Would I be willing to accept him still? Of course the response would be no less than YES. I have nothing against homosexuals as long as they do not aggravate other people.

However, I guess it will still be best to follow what was written in the Holy scripture. I mean as much as possible I am wishing that he will act on the concept of how he was created and that is to be a man - a real man of a male gender on the way he acts, thinks and speaks.

I love my baby and I will always be proud of him no matter what. He is the most handsome guy for me. The best among the best and I believe that he will be the first man who will keep me in his heart until forever.

Macoi's Third Quarter Birthdays

After months of skipping to update sharing about Coi's Life, I think I now have all the time to continue the deed.

My memory is somehow failing this time so I'd rather fill this post with photos and few words.

All is Well for Macoi

I was more than worried about my son last week as he was sick. He did not had fever but he was coughing so hard that he could not sleep so well and even blow what he has eaten when attacked by an itchy throat.

He was brought to the doctor (his other pediatrician as the original is still out on a vacation) and was prescribed with antibacterial and mucolytic medicines for seven (7) days.

Glad he is now doing fine and feeling better as I see him back to his somewhat naughty toddler activities.

Just a little of his colds remains. Anyways, the medication is still continuous until he unfilled these two (2) tiny bottles.

Thanks to Papa Jesus for always looking after and taking care of my little angel and prince - Macoi.

Macoi Had His Hair Cut Again

If I am not mistaken, it was the sixth time Coi had his hair cut. I actually had no plans of getting it done this early as I want to see how he looks like with his hair a bit longer than the usual. But when he got sick, I noticed that he is getting skinny in appearance so I decided to take him to the barber shop.

As expected a chaos occurred  while he was sitting on a barber's chair. He cried too loud as if beaten so hard. He really does not want the feeling of being hit by an electric shaver. I just don't why but never he had been calm in this deed.

After some series of shaving and almost endless crying, here's the end result.

Feeling somehow lighter about his head.

Look at the tiny tail intentionally left on top of his nape.

Maybe feeling good about it already, pretending to have someone he speaks with over the phone.

How about having a picture besides his sleeping buddy "Tedi"?

And of course, smiling with momi.

Oh my cutie baby... hope I can have my hair cut too within the next few days so I can be cute-looking as well.

Ehw! especially having it the same way as Coi's. (Nyahaha! Me on a semi-bald hair style)

Macoi Just Learned About Solar System

mommy moments

This will be my share for this week's Mommy Moments (originally written yesterday) - Macoi doesn't know how to read yet.

Just last night I bought some study charts for Coi. One of those is the Solar System.

photo from internet
Tonight upon reaching home, I was so surprised to know that he has already memorized each planet. He can now point out which is which. He can already identify each and every planet even if you start from top to bottom, vice-versaor in no particular order.

As early as now, I am seeing in him the potential of a bright child (just like momi, hehe!). I am so proud of my son.

Below are the pictures of the charts I purchased from National Bookstore (my apology for the photo quality):

Mommy Moments at Nuvali

This pictures were taken at the Nuvali park while we enjoy boating in a man-made lake there. Macoi had fun watching school of koi fishes. He even had the chance to feed them.

Hope I am not yet late. I don't wanna miss it. I was out last Friday and Saturday that's why I almost forgot it.

Momi & Coi

Mommy and Me Monday at Really, Are You Serious?
Hosted by Krystyn

Coi and I do have a lot of photos together most especially when he was just a little baby.

This one was taken at home through my old mobile phone while he is having his milk.

But below is one of the latest pics I have taken while we were waiting for the bus on our way to meeting my classmates during college just recently.

And below further was taken when we were in the restaurant already where we had our lunch.

We don't have much pictures together taken during his playtime as I was the one who usually do the shot.

Happy Monday Everyone!
