Macoi’s Prayer -Angel of God

I am glad how my Coi-coi has learned to pray. We now do it every night. I know he had memorized it though he cannot fully utter the words yet.

It is but important to teach a child at a very young age to get closer to God. We have to instill them that to our Lord only we should depend.

Perhaps it is a bit harder introducing Jesus in His deepest sense. Maybe we could start letting them know that there are Angels guiding little children like them. Just like the most popular prayer imparts to us.

Angel of God,

My guardian dear,
to whom God's love commits me here,
ever this day(night),
be at my side
to light and love,
to rule and guide.
Amen.

I have researched a Latin translation of this prayer, which I would just like to share as well. Here it goes:

Ángele Dei,

qui custos es mei,
me, tibi commissum pietáte supérna,
hodie illúmina, custódi,
rege et gubérna.
Amen.

Coi and His New Hair Cut

If I am not mistaken it is Coi's fifth hair cut since he was born. It started when he reached a year old because that is according to the old saying that a baby should only have his or her hair cut on the first birthday.
Coi's usual hair style is usually that of extra short type. He also had experience that of the Mohawk kind. Lately he had some sort of tail at the back. While yesterday the barber got him back to the usual.
Last night, when I reached home he was so excited to show me his head with almost no hair at all.

Time Flies

How time really flies, as one my friend's dad said. I feel like I was just few days absent from blogging but when I get back to my last post, I found out that it was almost half a year that passed. Back then Coi was only 2 year-old and 3 mos now he is at his second year and seventh month already.

There are a lot of things he can do now as compared before. He already has this talkative tongue and is starting to ask questions. He even knows hot to demand for a thing he wants.

Obviously, my baby is really growing as time passes by. Who knows? Tomorrow he might be attending children preparatory classes already.

Travel Bonding with Coi

Just the thought of attending Amicah's birthday party is already a dilemma to me. Thinking that I am going to travel far from the usual in a public transportation with Macoi with me who is so heavy to carry.

But I guess I was wrong in that notion. Macoi is already a grown up baby. I just have to take his hand while we walk along the way. He can already sit with ease in a public utility bus without having me to totally hold him just like before.

taken in a van on our way back home
The only problem is when he gets to sleep as obviously I can not just let him sleep alone and eventually fall from his seat.

As to my over- all assessment, in the coming days; he will just need a little of guidance from me.

However, I just wish that we can have our own wheels to drive as it is really annoying transferring from one PUV to another; or it could be that someday I hope our destination would be not just within Manila or Philippines. Hehe! Hongkong will do. Nyahaha! Let me save for it baby.

Macoi's Third Quarter Birthdays

After months of skipping to update sharing about Coi's Life, I think I now have all the time to continue the deed.

My memory is somehow failing this time so I'd rather fill this post with photos and few words.

January 24, 2009 - 7th Month

Cake will always be part of the celebration. Momi and baby picture should not be eliminated as well.

Feburary 24, 2009 - 8th Month

Macoi Had His Hair Cut Again

If I am not mistaken, it was the sixth time Coi had his hair cut. I actually had no plans of getting it done this early as I want to see how he looks like with his hair a bit longer than the usual. But when he got sick, I noticed that he is getting skinny in appearance so I decided to take him to the barber shop.

As expected a chaos occurred  while he was sitting on a barber's chair. He cried too loud as if beaten so hard. He really does not want the feeling of being hit by an electric shaver. I just don't why but never he had been calm in this deed.

After some series of shaving and almost endless crying, here's the end result.

Feeling somehow lighter about his head.

Look at the tiny tail intentionally left on top of his nape.

Maybe feeling good about it already, pretending to have someone he speaks with over the phone.

How about having a picture besides his sleeping buddy "Tedi"?

And of course, smiling with momi.

Oh my cutie baby... hope I can have my hair cut too within the next few days so I can be cute-looking as well.

Ehw! especially having it the same way as Coi's. (Nyahaha! Me on a semi-bald hair style)

This will be my entry for today's Mommy and Me Monday. Click the badge below for more related stories.

Macoi's Monthly Birthday Celebration - Second Quarter

After few weeks of diverting into other topics, I am now ready to continue my sharing on how Macoi did celebrate his birthdays on a monthly basis prior to reaching his first year birthday. And I must complete these posts so I can show Niko that he consistently had birthday cakes each month.

Fourth Month - October 24, 2008

It was another working day then so I didn't have the time to cook for Coi's bday. We just ordered pancit from our neighbor, bought softdrinks, served biscuits and chips and of course the cake I got from Goldilocks.

If I remember it right, we don't have a digital camera during that time so we just borrowed a mobile phone from my cousin's friend and that was what we used to take pictures.

Coi has only one visitor and that was Kuya Jayson who just lives across our house.

At least we were able to celebrate it. Look at Coi back then, he was so cute and until now he is.

Fifth Month - November 24, 2008

During his fifth month birthday I took a leave of absence as I wanted to take Macoi out. We went to Mall of Asia then and there I brought him to a studio where he had his photo shoot.

See? It was one of his best shots as if he really knew how t pose like a model.

We actually did a lot of things at the MOA. I took him around and had series of pictures as his momi mina let us used her digicam.

We posed with the ice skating rink and the grand carousels as our backgrounds. Macoi tried to fit shades and even rode on a bike in the department store.

From the mall, we bought sansrival cake then we went home.

Since I have enough time, I had the chance to cook. I prepared pancit and sopas which is lola's favorite and matched them with strawberry juice, bread and peanut butter spread.

This day was one of his best monthly birthdays as we were also preparing for Christmas then.

Sixth Month - December 24, 2008

His half year birthday  was celebrated out of town. Since it was holiday and a Christmas eve, we went to the province (where I was raised by my lola) to celebrate the yuletide season.

What was so sad about that? The pictures were corrupted. But I did buy Coi a cake, and that was his biggest cake ever I bought from Central Terminal in Lucena City - a goldilocks chocolate cake similar to my niece's birthday cake below.

And because two special days coincided (Christmas Eve and Half Year Birthday), there were lot of foodstuffs that we personally prepared. Our visitors then were few of our neighbors and some of our relatives.

And this was the end of sharing Macoi's first second quarter of life. More to be shared next time.

***You may click on each subheadings (except for December) to see more of Macoi's pictures.***

Macoi's Post Birthday Party Celebration

Yes, after ten (10) days Macoi had another birthday party in celebration of his becoming a two (2) year old kiddo. The bash was held at Bicutan and I have to give credit to my would be parents and sisters in-law.

Che was the one who has been diligent enough for this celebration as she did the cooking and even spent a lot I guess for the food and stuffs. Ate Christy contributed the balloons and cake. Papa prepared "bopis" while mama took care of Macoi as I also cooked a sweet spaghetti.

This time its for kids and so there were children.

They are Coi's first visitors who came.

Just like the traditional birthday party, there was a blowing of candle done with Coi's lolo dado.

And this is actually the second time as he also did it at home when we had our first celebration.

And she is Princess, Coi's favorite guest. My Dear Coi, you're too young for the courtship thing huh!

Extended Birthday Party for Macoi

As we are expecting another batch of visitors for Macoi's 2nd birthday - friends from our former neighborhood, we prepared another set of food to be served. This time it's for lunch.

I cooked porkchop steak with potato toppings, and

 home made sizzling spicy giniling.

And so my diet program was ruined again by these irresistible food stuff.

The table was simply set  with rice, grilled pork as an additional viand, mangoes and macaroons for dessert and of course soft drinks as always part of the list.

Sumptuous really. I tried controlling myself to eat more but it didn't work. While Coi is busy sleeping, I took advantage of it.
I ate till I get full, so full that I had to rush to the comfort room a few minutes after eating. Hehe!

Yumyum! Eating is really one of the best activities in life.

Macoi's Birthday Celebration

Finally the celebration is successfully done with cake and food stuffs set to complete the day.

-the cake erroneously named after dada instead of dadi -

-foods I personally cooked-

My visitors -  office mates and college friends. Maybe I had to apologize to the rest of my friends who were not invited. Actually, the original plan was just to have some sort of drinking session with my office mates till I finally decided to cook for them. Then I invited my college friends as we have scheduled an ocular for wedding reception venue.

-Officemates @ APC-
 -My college friends-

The celebration was simple and I hope they had fun. Thanks to my workmates (apology to metz for what had happened to her car) and friends.

The effort I've exerted is worth it. Thanks for the appreciation.

Actually it isn't over yet, there's one more for tomorrow.

Macoi Just Turned Two

Macoi's actual birthday had passed.

Without birthday cake, without party food and other birthday stuffs.

Except for the balloons I got from the recently held inauguration of a New Team's office in our company, which I placed in our staircase to decorate our home.

And the gifts Macoi has received. One from his playmate Clark which contains Sando and the other one was a present from his titos and titas from Tropang Utot - a remote control car.

Macoi has really appreciated the gifts especially the BLAZER as he loves anything with wheels. Thanks to my friends and neighbor who made this day even more special.

Momi's contribution was taking him to SM for some sort of photo shoot (as if). Glad that Macoi was not in tantrums and he did a good pose.

Now my baby is leaving the infant hood and turning to the kid stage with the way he speaks and acts. He's really growing up. Hope he'll grow in love for anything at its best.

The celebration is just about to begin. Done cooking the Leche Flan and Mixing the Fruit Salad. Later would be the pasta and all others to be served to the visitors expected to come.
